After School Club

Pupils attending Windrush Charlton Primary can attend the after school club provision run by Basecamp, our new provider

You may have already heard that Basecamp Childcare will be taking over the After School Club provision from 1st September 2026, with Holiday Camps launching from October Half Term. 

We are thrilled to be partnering with Windrush Charlton and are really looking forward to becoming part of the school community, supporting local families with trusted, flexible childcare that works around your individual circumstances. Our goal is to make life a little easier for busy families by providing childcare that is reliable, affordable and genuinely responsive to your needs.

If you’re already familiar with the current After School Club provider, you can expect some changes, including our booking arrangements, staffing structure and pricing model. We know these changes will help us deliver a more flexible, inclusive and responsive service for families. We do not charge a registration fee, and we offer a 10% sibling discount, helping us to keep childcare as accessible and affordable as possible.

We are working closely with the school's Senior Leadership Team and Children's Services to ensure that Basecamp Windrush delivers an outstanding service for children and families from day one.

As part of the transition, we are currently progressing through the TUPE process and have met with the existing staff. Our intention is to support colleagues through a smooth onboarding process, whilst ensuring that all staff receive Basecamp-specific training and understand our values, expectations and ways of working. We have high expectations of our teams and are committed to creating a culture where children receive consistently excellent care, support and engagement every day.

Alongside this, we are recruiting a highly qualified Camp Manager who will lead the Windrush provision throughout the year, including term time and school holidays. The Manager will be based at Windrush Monday to Friday and will play a key role in building authentic partnerships with families, children and the school. Their mission will be to get to know every family, understand their individual needs and ensure that Basecamp Windrush becomes a trusted, responsive and valued part of the school community.

Once these arrangements are in place, we will be back in touch with further information about the team, including staff biographies, so you can get to know the people who will be caring for your children. We will also share examples of our daily activity plans and routines, giving you a flavour of the games, activities and experiences your children can look forward to enjoying when we launch in September. We hope this will help families feel informed, reassured and excited about the start of this new chapter at Windrush.

Early conversations help us ensure that we can provide the best possible care and support from the outset.

Booking Information

Following parent feedback at our other sites, we have migrated our current booking system to MAGIC BOOKING. Many of you will already be familiar with this system through the current provider. You will be able to link your existing account, if you have one, with Basecamp Childcare but you will need to fill out our consents section, as this may differ from the current provider.

We are currently awaiting our Ofsted URN. We will ensure that all registered families receive this information as soon as it is available.

We will also send out our Parent Handbook towards the end of the summer to all those registered.

Our flexible booking structure means you only pay for the time you use, helping families manage childcare around their individual schedules and budgets.

After School Club

• 30 minutes – £4.25
• 1 hour – £6.00
• 90 minutes – £9.25
• 2 hours – £11.00
• Until 6pm – £13.50

Holiday Camps

• 9am – 3pm – £25.00
• Extended hours – £6.00 per hour

We offer the same flexibility during school holidays, with extended-hour options available to help families manage work and childcare commitments.

We accept the Tax-Free Childcare Scheme, Childcare Vouchers, BACS and card payments and we can provide relevant documentation for Universal Credit. We have a dedicated administration team supporting the school, ensuring that help is always available whenever you need it.

We provide a selection of healthy snacks and a hot tea, including options such as pasta, soup, beans on toast and chicken wraps, all included within the session fee. We want children to leave us happy, well-fed and ready to enjoy quality family time at home. By providing a proper meal before home time, we also hope to help ease some of the pressure on busy family schedules and household budgets.
